Here is a recap of the weekend.
4th Grade Girls: 1-3
These girls showed a lot of heart playing in a very tough division that was a combination of 4th and 5th graders. We have a young team that has 6 4th graders and 1 3rd grader. I am so proud of the girls for playing hard throughout the weekend in less than an ideal situation. This will only make them better!
8th Grade girls: 0-3
Not the results I’m sure they were looking for, but for being the first time out as a group, these ladies got better throughout the tournament. The injury bug was out in full force within this group. Three players battled injury and sickness all weekend. This team has many brighter days ahead!
5th grade Boys: 4-0 Champions!
After seeing these young men, it is easy to say they will be a team that will be a force to deal with in the 5th grade division all summer! Great job boys!
6th Grade Red: 0-4
These guys played extremely hard in the top 6th grade division. The wins weren’t there, but you can see that this group will only get better and will be in the mix all year!
6th Grade Grey: 1-3
Played 3 games that they easily could have been on the winning side. One of their losses came against ND Attack, a team that was clearly in the wrong bracket, easily should have been in the upper divisions of 6th grade. Keep working hard boys, nothing to hang your heads about.
7th Grade boys: 4-0 Champions!
It was a dominating performance all weekend for this group. They are fun to watch as they get up and done the court and with their shooting and gutty play inside they will be a Championship contender each time out!
8th Grade regional: 2-2
These guys had the exciting game of the weekend winning their 1st game in double overtime! then capped off Saturday with a 2-0 record and a spot in the semifinals. they lost 2 heart breakers on Sunday, but again not a bad showing their first time out.
8th Grade National: 3-1 Silver Bracket Champs!
Only loss came to the eventual overall tourney Champs Top Flight out of Minneapolis. This is Tyus Jones of the Minnesota Timberwolves club. They were in the whole game and had a chance to tie at the end of regulation but a 3 just came up short. Great job boys, they are absolutely among the best in the region!
15u Boys: 2-2
Like the 8th grade girls, the injury bug bit hard within this group, yet they managed to score a ton of points all weekend. They are deadly shooters and can get up and down the court with anyone. They will be just fine when they get to full strength.
Overall we were 17-18 with 2 Division Championships and a Silver Bracket Championship.
Great job to everyone!
